fishing

What’s surprising in WoTLK is how even Fishing and Cooking have become such viable income generating profession.   Both were provided a nice lift in the form of food buff variety and quality this last expansion and we do have to take our hats off to Blizzard.

You may have thought I was going to talk about the the materials needed for the Fish Feast, but that’s an easy one you probably see steady income streams.  The material we’re going to chime in on today is the continued solid returns for time fished and that’s Dragonfin Angelfish. Read more… »

Spring Cleaning: Reputation Turn Ins

Zul_reputation

Ok,  it’s not spring but the G/F just started playing WoW again,  she dinged 80 and of course I needed to be that guy to help her get some crafted gear to at least get her comfortably tanking the 5 mans.  I thought it would be a great time to maybe clean out some bags which lead to this story.  If you’re an Alt-a-holic like me, you’ve got a number of toons you’ve carried through Vanilla WoW and TBC and if that’s the case,  you might want to take a look at reputation turn ins.  You’re probably sitting on a pot of gold and you didn’t know it.

What you’re capitalizing on here are the Achievement junkies of the game who are focused on trying to get the Reputation Achievements completed.   I decided to go through all my Alt’s and push every Rep item that wasn’t nailed down over to my Bank Auction Alt to see what kind of gold that would generate and I was actually pretty surprised.  The Achievement folks are still buying these items up in quantity and most of the items I posted were gone the day I listed.  As a matter of fact, every reputation item I listed was sold which made me think I left some gold on the table but oh well.  Here’s a breakdown on that spring cleaning. Infinite Dust & AH Trolls

InfiniteDustI’ve been playing on my server for the better part of 4 years and I’ve had a few friends ask me what the deal with Infinite Dustin the Auction House.   To be honest,  I hadn’t looked at Infinite Dust in a while,  I don’t trade it as I usually bank it for a rainy day where it gets used.  Although I’ve got a few more stacks than I like,  I don’t mind having extra on hand.

Many people seem to be aggravated in their trips to the Auction House when looking for Infinite Dust where people are posting hundreds if not thousands of infinite dust in stacks of 1 each.   Ok,  so I get the logic involved where you want your Auctions to show first and you want to make it so the buyers just go ahead and make it too difficult for someone to scroll back and grab the quantity they really need.  Well I’m under the opinion that the Law of Unintended Consequences may be coming to get you,  and get you back in a really bad way if you’re one of these people who do this. Tailoring – Time for Change?

tailoring_trainerIs it just me or does Tailoring seem like it’s in a funk?   I’ve seen several long time fellow tailors drop the profession over the past few months.   We were chatting about Tailoring not long ago in Guild Chat getting varying feedback but predominantly negative.   In TBC, many quickly leveled enchanting to 375 for the crafted sets that could be made,  making demand for specialty cloth strong.  The cool down is 4 days which really got me scratching my head thinking reducing the CD to 1 day is probably a needed change.  It’s simply overlooked due to lack of QQ.

More than likely Tailors saw the grass so green in other professions such as Inscriptions or Jewlcrafting and switched.   Chances are the lack of complaints were due to the fact that players had another profession to generate income and didn’t care.  Maybe Blizzard just overlooked the fact that Tailoring is turning into Engineering (less the cool toys?) Cheers!
