The WoW Economist will be covering add-ons from time to time. Although some may be old school, not every reader has been around since vanilla WoW. This week we’ll be covering what is considered best in game for bag management and that’s Ark Inventory.
Ark Inventory is probably one of my favorite mods and becomes even more valuable over time as bag slots continue to grow and we’re allowed to carry, store or bank more items. Ark Inventory is incredibly simple to use and gives you basically unlimied configuration utility to display your loots. It works with bags, banks and even your guild bank. Personally I don’t use it for the Guild Bank, I do appreciate how the Guild Bank is set up by Blizzard so I haven’t felt a need to change.
Some key features to consider if you haven’t installed this add on.
- Split and create as many bag sections as you want. You want a section just for you PVP Gear, DPS Gear and Tanking Gear, this is not a problem.
- Assign Items specific or unique categories to go in the bags sections you’ve designated.
- Standardizes categories and bag sections across all toons, so you’ll be looking in the same spots for every thing.
- Hover over an item, it will also tell you how many of those items you have on your alts as well as bank and guild bank. Great to check to see if you can find an extra item you need before going to the Auction House.
- Easy on the eyes, you can scale the bags down so they aren’t taking your entire screen up. Your bags are easily move-able as well with this mod.
One of the things I love about Ark Inventory is the fact that you can customize your storage pretty much anyway you want. Ark Inventory is available to download on both WoW Interface and Curse. Spend 5 minutes with this add-on and you’ll be in love with the functionality, that’s a WoW Economist guarnatee.

ArkInventory is amazingly powerful; its also dangerous in that you suddenly go “… oh I could just do…”.
The rules are incredibly powerful. Having a rule which is “tooltip( you may trade )” means that I can separate out the BoP items from dungeons I want to d/e or sell from all of the other BoP items I keep around!
